Creating a novel treatment for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease

CMT is a disease of the peripheral nerves, which transmit feelings and govern muscle activity (unlike muscular dystrophies, which affect the muscles themselves). CMT is also known as hereditary motor sensory neuropathy and is named for the three doctors who discovered it: Jean-Martin Charcot, Pierre Marie, and Howard Tooth (HMSN).
